Max Miller Fights for Ohio Seat Amid Abuse Allegations
Republican Representative Max Miller is seeking reelection in Ohio's 7th District while facing a House ethics probe and domestic abuse allegations from former partners.
Republican U.S. Representative Max Miller is fighting to retain his seat in Ohio's 7th Congressional District amid serious allegations of domestic abuse. His ex-wife, Emily Moreno, and former girlfriend, Stephanie Grisham, have accused him of physical violence, including claims that Miller threw boiling water at Moreno and held a gun to her head.
Miller denies the charges and has filed defamation lawsuits against both women. However, the United States House of Representatives has opened an ethics investigation into the matter. Fellow Republicans, including U.S. Senators Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno, have publicly stated that Miller is unfit for office. While Donald Trump has endorsed Miller, his public support has cooled, and he notably did not feature the representative on stage during a recent rally in Youngstown.
Democratic challenger Brian Poindexter, a union ironworker, is campaigning on economic issues such as tariffs and gas prices, while criticizing Miller's support for the war in Iran. The race has seen massive financial investment from both sides; the House Majority PAC committed over $6 million to support Poindexter, while the Congressional Leadership Fund booked more than $5.5 million in television ads for Miller.
