Donald Trump Vows $400 Million Spend for Midterms
President Donald Trump pledged to spend over $400 million to support Republican candidates as Mike Bloomberg contributes $80 million to Democratic efforts.
Donald Trump announced he will spend over $400 million to support Republican Party candidates in the November 3 midterm elections. In a social media post, the president stated that approximately $300 million has already been allocated toward rallies, advertising, voter contact, and election integrity initiatives. This spending comes as the Republican Party defends its congressional majority amid low approval ratings for the president in key battlegrounds, including Maine and Michigan.
Federal Election Commission filings as of October 20 show a discrepancy with these claims, recording approximately $200 million in identifiable spending and ad reservations.
Simultaneously, former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg spent $80 million during September and October to assist Democrats in regaining majority control of the House of Representatives. This contribution places Bloomberg among the top five largest individual Democratic donors for the 2025-2026 election cycle.
