Pakistan Coordinates Diplomacy with Jordan and Kuwait Over Palestine

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a series of high-level diplomatic engagements with Jordan and Kuwait between July 28 and 29, 2026, focusing on regional stability and the crisis in Palestine. In a telephone call with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Dar expressed grave concern over Israeli military actions in Gaza and the West Bank, specifically condemning incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Safadi proposed a meeting of Arab and Islamic nations to unify their diplomatic strategy, while Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders.

On July 29, Dar co-chaired delegation talks in Islamabad with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The two nations agreed to institutionalize cooperation across trade, energy, agriculture, and information technology. These discussions occurred alongside reports that Pakistan is negotiating an expanded defense pact with Kuwait, which may involve the deployment of Pakistani troops, fighter jets, and air defense systems in exchange for investment and energy cooperation.

During the visit, Sheikh Jarrah also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to discuss regional security. Prime Minister Sharif highlighted Pakistan's role as a regional mediator, while Field Marshal Munir focused on security arrangements and diplomatic efforts to restore peace in the Middle East.
