Walmart Reports 24% E-commerce Growth and AI Strategy
Walmart Inc. reported strong e-commerce growth and detailed its investment in agentic commerce and AI partnerships at a Goldman Sachs conference.
Walmart Inc. reported 24% e-commerce growth in its latest quarter, marking the tenth consecutive quarter of growth exceeding 20% and the sixth consecutive profitable quarter. Presenting at the Goldman Sachs Global Consumer and Retail Conference, the company stated it is "playing offense" to capture more market share through a strategy focused on assortment, price, and experience.
The company is expanding alternative revenue streams, with Walmart Connect advertising increasing by 43% and Marketplace sales rising by 52%. To drive conversion and order values, the retailer is investing in agentic commerce via its Sparky AI assistant and partnerships with Google and OpenAI.
Operationally, Walmart has expanded its fulfillment network to ensure 70% of orders are delivered same-day or faster. While the company faces headwinds from the Maximum Fair Price policy regarding certain pharmaceuticals, it reported double-digit profitability improvements within its health and wellness sector.
