Ajit Doval Details Operation Sindoor in Discovery Docuseries

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval detailed the strategic reasoning behind Operation Sindoor in the Discovery docuseries Declassified: Operation Sindoor. The 88-hour military operation began on May 7 of the previous year as a response to an April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people.

Indian forces conducted precision strikes against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to destroy camps responsible for the Pahalgam attack. The operation evolved into a broader military conflict after Pakistan launched its own offensives. The hostilities concluded on May 10 after both nuclear-armed nations reached an understanding.

Doval stated that the operation served as a signal that India's tolerance should not be mistaken for weakness and that the nation is willing to take risks and hit hard regardless of the consequences. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi views the fight against terror as an ongoing effort that will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
