Donald Trump Holds Myrtle Beach Rally for Darline Graham

Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 21, at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center to support U.S. Senator Darline Graham. The visit comes ahead of an August 25 Republican primary runoff election for the Senate seat vacated by the death of Lindsey Graham.

Graham, who was appointed to the seat by Governor Henry McMaster, currently leads her opponent, U.S. Representative Ralph Norman, in the polls. In the August 11 primary, Graham received 33% of the vote compared to Norman's 25%. The winner of the runoff will advance to the November general election to face Democratic nominee Dr. Annie Andrews.

To accommodate the president's visit, the South Carolina Republican Party postponed a scheduled U.S. Senate primary stump event in Anderson. Party officials stated the move ensures both runoff candidates have the opportunity to participate in the rescheduled event, maintaining fairness for both sides of the primary.
