Narendra Modi Honors Ashok Singhal on 100th Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the late Ashok Singhal, former International Working President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, during the 138th episode of his monthly radio broadcast, Mann Ki Baat, on September 27, 2026.

Modi marked the 100th birth anniversary of Singhal by crediting his leadership and energy as the primary driving force behind the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He stated that the temple in Ayodhya exists today because of Singhal's contributions to the cause.

Beyond the temple movement, Modi highlighted Singhal's commitment to combating social discrimination and inequality. He noted that Singhal renounced a privileged background as the son of a civil services officer and an IIT BHU graduate to dedicate his life to Indian society and culture.
