Writing on Truth Social, Trump referred to Iranian officials as "savages" and claimed that over 52,000 innocent protesters have been killed, a figure that has not been independently verified.

The executions occurred on July 19 at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. Iranian authorities alleged that the men participated in violence against police officers during protests that intensified in January. However, human rights groups maintain that the charges were fabricated.

This development follows the escalation of an active war between the United States and Iran, which intensified after joint U.S.-Israeli air strikes on February 28. Amnesty International and the Iran Human Rights Group warned that these executions indicate a widening crackdown on political prisoners and dissenters amidst the ongoing conflict.
