Amit Shah Promises Uniform Civil Code in Uttar Pradesh
Union Home Minister Amit Shah pledged that the BJP will implement the Uniform Civil Code in Uttar Pradesh if the party wins the upcoming Assembly elections.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party will implement the Uniform Civil Code in Uttar Pradesh if the party wins the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking at a state executive committee meeting in Lucknow, Shah asserted that the BJP government in the state is immovable and predicted that the Samajwadi Party would remain out of power for the next 30 years, citing the party's history regarding the Ram temple.
Shah also challenged opposition parties to convene a special session of Parliament to debate allegations of vote theft. He compared the opposition's complaints to a sports team blaming an umpire after a loss. These remarks follow recent accusations by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi that votes were being stolen from the top level and poor voters were being deleted from electoral rolls.
