TikTok USDS Joint Venture Seeks Gigawatts of AI Capacity
TikTok USDS Joint Venture is seeking up to four gigawatts of computing capacity by the early 2030s to support new B2B AI products.
TikTok USDS Joint Venture is seeking to secure multiple gigawatts of computing capacity, potentially reaching four gigawatts by the early 2030s. The company intends to use this infrastructure to support increasing artificial intelligence workloads, specifically for a flagship B2B AI product focused on creative automation and large-model inference.
While the company currently relies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for its operations and the security of its recommendation algorithm, it is exploring additional capacity to meet global demand for digital infrastructure.
The joint venture was established in 2026 following an executive order by President Donald Trump that required the divestiture of TikTok from its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. The entity is owned by managing investors Silver Lake, Oracle, and MGX, while ByteDance retains a 19.9% stake.
