This effort coincides with a recent FBI raid in Fulton County, Georgia, orchestrated by Trump's director of election security and integrity, Kurt Olsen, to seize 2020 ballots.

Parallel to these legal maneuvers, Trump has suggested that the 2026 midterms could be canceled if the United States were engaged in a war. These comments followed military strikes initiated by his administration against Iran. While Trump claimed the strikes were necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon within two weeks, Senator Ted Cruz stated he had no intelligence indicating Iran was close to that goal.
