Joseph Odesola Defends Enoch Adeboye Against Political Pressure
Joseph Odesola urged Nigerians to stop pressuring Pastor Enoch Adeboye to publicly criticize President Bola Tinubu, arguing religious leaders should not be political instruments.
Continental Overseer Joseph Odesola urged Nigerians to stop pressuring Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, to publicly attack President Bola Tinubu. In a statement published by Impact Nigeria, Odesola argued that religious leaders should not be used as instruments for political campaigns or forced to follow a script dictated by public expectation.
Odesola stated that Adeboye will address Nigeria's political and economic challenges, including poverty and insecurity, only when he believes it is the appropriate time and based on divine instruction. He emphasized that spiritual authority is not demonstrated through insults or anger, and that a servant of God is called to obey God rather than satisfy the demands of a crowd.
