Rahul Gandhi Visits Chennai for Student Outreach Program

Rahul Gandhi, the Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition, visited Chennai on October 10 as part of his Chhatron Ki Goonj (Voice of Students) outreach programme. He addressed students at the Island Grounds at 5 p.m., focusing on unemployment, rising tuition fees, paper leaks, and examination irregularities.

While over one lakh students registered for the session, the event was expected to draw 10,000 students with identification cards. The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee coordinated the arrangements, with state president Manickam Tagore inspecting the venue and reviewing preparations.

Beyond the student rally, Gandhi met with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay at his Neelankarai residence at 1.30 p.m. He also held meetings with political leaders and Congress functionaries at the Taj Connemara hotel before returning to New Delhi at 9.30 p.m.
