Russian Airstrikes Kill and Wound Dozens Across Ukraine

Russian forces conducted a series of aerial attacks across Ukraine on July 23, 2026, targeting residential neighborhoods and industrial sites in multiple regions. In eastern Ukraine, bombing raids in Pavlohrad killed at least three people and injured more than a dozen others, specifically hitting company premises. In Sloviansk, two glide bombs wounded 14 people and damaged seven apartment buildings, causing fires that covered approximately 630 square meters.

In Zaporizhzhia, a strike on a multi-story residential building injured at least 18 people and caused significant structural damage. This attack followed a week of escalating violence in the area, including a drone strike on a food processing plant on July 22 and a residential block destruction on July 19 that killed two people. Separate attacks in the southern city of Kherson also resulted in reported injuries.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, responded to the strikes by calling on Western partner countries to provide additional air defense missiles for the Patriot system. In the Donetsk region, Military Governor Vadym Filashkin described the assaults as deliberate attempts to turn ordinary life into constant fear by hunting civilians.
