Senator Ali Ndume Criticizes Tinubu for Chairing APC Campaign Council

Senator Ali Ndume argued that President Bola Tinubu should not chair the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections.

Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South criticized President Bola Tinubu's decision to chair the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections. During an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Wednesday, Ndume argued that the president is the product being sold to the electorate and should not lead the campaign efforts.

Ndume proposed that the party's national chairman should instead lead the council. He suggested that state governors should head presidential campaigns within their respective states, supported by a central coordinating team to manage the process.

This critique follows the action taken by President Tinubu last week to constitute the council and appoint himself as its chairman.
