Uba Sani Predicts Tinubu Landslide in Kaduna State
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani predicts President Bola Tinubu will win 70 to 80 percent of the state's votes in the 2027 election.
Governor Uba Sani predicted that President Bola Tinubu will secure between 70 and 80 percent of the votes in Kaduna State during the 2027 presidential election. Speaking on Channels Television, Sani attributed this projected support to federal interventions, including the establishment of a federal medical centre in Kafanchan and a federal university of science and technology in Kachia.
Sani noted a shift in political dynamics in Southern Kaduna, where former opposition leaders such as Senator Sunday Katung have joined the All Progressives Congress. This political realignment coincides with the ongoing legal proceedings against former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who is currently in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission facing charges of money laundering, abuse of office, and corruption.
Regarding state finances, Sani disclosed that Kaduna State pays 6.7 billion Naira monthly to service loans inherited from previous administrations, a debt obligation that continues until 2048. He asserted that his administration has not taken any new loans since May 2023.
