Trump Announces Taiwan Investment in Alaska LNG Project

President Donald Trump announced Taiwan will invest $4.4 billion and purchase 30% of gas from the Alaska LNG pipeline project.

Donald Trump announced at a rally in Alaska that Taiwan has agreed to invest approximately $4.4 billion and purchase 30% of the gas from the Alaska LNG pipeline project. This agreement follows a $50 billion pledge from South Korea, providing substantial Asian financial backing to the project intended to diversify energy supplies. Trump stated that every permit needed for the project has been granted.

During the same event, Trump predicted that oil prices would fall and the war with Iran would end soon, asserting that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons. He claimed that oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz has already exceeded pre-war levels.

These assertions contrast with current market data. Brent crude recently settled near $106 per barrel following increased Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. Additionally, assessments from Morgan Stanley indicate that Persian Gulf crude exports remain below pre-war levels.
