Pete Hegseth Orders Pentagon Polygraphs to Find Leakers

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is conducting widespread polygraph tests on approximately 50 military officers and civilian officials to identify leakers within the Pentagon. The investigation follows reports of weapons shortages, deteriorating conditions on a U.S. aircraft carrier, and challenges regarding the ongoing war effort of President Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump endorsed the hunt for leakers on Truth Social, characterizing the disclosures as "treasonous statements" and stating that "long term jail sentences will be sought!"

To tighten information control, Hegseth has restricted reporter access at the Pentagon and dismissed journalists from the military newspaper Stars and Stripes. Simultaneously, the United States Department of Justice has subpoenaed New York Times reporters regarding stories about security issues with a Qatari-donated aircraft repurposed as Air Force One.
