Hegseth Mandates Testosterone Tests as Trump Signs AI Safety Pact

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced mandatory testosterone testing for troops while President Donald Trump signed a safety accord with major AI firms.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a speech in Quantico on Wednesday focused on rebuilding the military and reviving the warrior ethos. Hegseth announced the implementation of mandatory testosterone testing to ensure a merit-based force and issued a cultural critique of the military, stating that 'beardos and weirdos' are no longer welcome. To improve battlefield adaptation, he also announced plans to establish a new four-star command for autonomous weapons and drones by October 2027.

Simultaneously, President Donald Trump met with executives from OpenAI, Google, Meta, and Nvidia in Washington to sign a morally binding accord on AI safety. The pact creates four layers of safeguards, including internal monitoring and partnerships with independent auditors. Trump described the agreement as being almost like a constitution, intended to maintain public confidence and counter technological advancements by adversaries such as China.
