African Action Congress Requests Use of Aso Rock for Inauguration
The African Action Congress requested President Bola Tinubu's approval to use the Presidential Villa for its campaign council inauguration on November 11.
The African Action Congress requested approval from President Bola Tinubu to use the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, in Abuja for the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council on November 11, 2026. In a formal letter dated October 21, the party asked for the venue and logistical support, including food and drinks, for 5,000 participants traveling from across Nigeria and abroad.
The party, which has named Omoyele Sowore as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, based its request on the principles of multiparty democracy and equal treatment. The African Action Congress claimed that similar arrangements were reportedly extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress for a similar political engagement.
By requesting these resources, the party asserted that granting the request would demonstrate the Presidency's commitment to fairness and non-partisan access to public institutions. The Presidency has not yet responded to the request.
