Donald Trump Discloses Millions in August Securities Transactions
President Donald Trump disclosed over 500 securities transactions in August, including investments in Meta, Nvidia, and SpaceX, amid policies affecting those industries.
President Donald Trump disclosed more than 500 securities transactions conducted in August, with total values ranging between $74.3 million and $273.3 million. The filings reveal a $25 million investment in Meta shares on August 21 and trades in Nvidia stock totaling up to $1.6 million in purchases and $1 million in sales. These Nvidia trades occurred as the administration considered policies on advanced chip exports and on the same day Trump awarded the National Medal of Science to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
Other disclosures show Trump invested between $1 million and $5 million in SpaceX senior unsecured notes on August 18, two days before signing a national space transportation policy to expand commercial space infrastructure. On August 26, he purchased shares in Tyson Foods on the same day he signed a proclamation to expand low-tariff imports of lean beef trimmings to reduce consumer prices.
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle defended the activity, stating that third-party financial institutions independently manage the portfolio to replicate recognized indexes. This approach differs from previous presidents who utilized blind trusts or divested individual stocks to prevent conflicts of interest.
