Trump Orders White House Overhaul Amid Iran War and Legal Battles

President Donald Trump is overseeing massive White House renovations and pardoning January 6 convicts while managing a costly war with Iran and domestic political instability.

President Donald Trump is conducting extensive renovations of the White House, including the demolition of the East Wing to build a golden ballroom and the installation of a granite helipad. These projects include a six-story underground military complex, which the administration has recently designated as a Military Complex/Triumphal Arch to bypass legal challenges by citing national security needs for snipers and drones.

These construction efforts occur alongside a seven-month military conflict with Iran intended to prevent the country from obtaining nuclear weapons. The war has depleted U.S. munitions and caused gasoline prices to rise, while trade tariffs on Canada and other nations have disrupted global supply chains. Internationally, Trump has suggested Canada become the 51st U.S. state and threatened to take control of Greenland.

Domestically, Trump has pardoned nearly all individuals convicted in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, calling the convictions a "grave national injustice." His administration has also banned CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House and attempted to rename Lake Ontario and the Gulf of Mexico to Lake America and the Gulf of America. Facing record-low approval ratings and potential midterm losses, Trump has shifted AI oversight to a self-regulating "AI Force" composed of industry leaders.
