Russia Strikes Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv Using North Korean Missiles

Russian forces launched ballistic missile and guided aerial bomb strikes on Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv on August 11, 2026. In Zaporizhzhia, the attacks killed six civilians and injured 19, causing damage to residential homes and a warehouse.

Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia utilized Zircons and North Korean ballistic missiles in the assault. He characterized these actions as evidence that Moscow is preparing for escalation rather than peace.

Ukrainian forces responded with drone strikes inside Russia. One attack hit a Wildberries logistics hub in Novaya Usman, Voronezh region, killing one person and injuring two. Reports also indicated a fire at the Orsk oil refinery in the Orenburg region.
