Donald Trump Campaigns in Kansas and North Carolina

President Donald Trump held campaign rallies in Kansas and North Carolina to support Republican candidates facing challenging Senate races.

President Donald Trump conducted a series of campaign rallies in Kansas and North Carolina to bolster Republican candidates ahead of the midterm elections. In Park City, Kansas, on October 19, Trump supported Senator Roger Marshall in his reelection bid against Democrat Adam Hamilton. During the event, Trump defended Marshall against reports that the senator sued over 700 patients for medical bills, claiming Marshall was mandated by law to seek those payments. The Kansas rally also featured rock artist Ted Nugent and was interrupted by protesters whom Trump characterized as paid agitators.

On October 20, Trump traveled to Greenville, North Carolina, for a rally hosted by the Trump 47 Committee at the Pitt-Greenville Airport. The event aimed to increase turnout for Republican Senate candidate Michael Whatley and congressional candidate Laurie Buckhout. This visit followed a Monday appearance by Vice President JD Vance in Hendersonville.

Both Senate races are currently competitive, with Republican candidates trailing in recent polling. In North Carolina, Whatley trails Democratic former Governor Roy Cooper by 14 percentage points. The push for higher turnout follows early voting data from October 18 showing registered Democrats accounting for 45% of ballots compared to 19% for Republicans.
