Nigerian Presidency Defends Economic Reforms as Investor Confidence Returns

The Nigerian government claims President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic reforms are reviving the business environment and supporting small enterprises through targeted funding and exchange stability.

The presidency of Nigeria asserts that economic reforms under Bola Ahmed Tinubu are restoring investor confidence and reviving the national business environment. During the inauguration of Makib Estilo, a new business outlet in Abuja, government officials stated that the administration is actively supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises through single-digit loans, targeted intervention funds, and free formalization drives.

Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim and Technical Assistant Nafia Abdullahi attributed the growth of local enterprises to the Renewed Hope Agenda and improved foreign exchange stability, which they claim has lowered import costs for entrepreneurs. Business owner Fatima Abdullahi Bono credited these foreign exchange policies for the growth of her own company.

Defending the administration against critics, Dr. Abdullahi acknowledged that the economic transition is difficult but argued that positive impacts are becoming clearer as citizens adjust. She challenged opposition politicians to engage directly with Nigerian businesses rather than relying on hearsay to criticize the reforms.
