Larry Ellison Net Worth Drops $104 Billion as Oracle Shares Plunge
Larry Ellison fell to the eighth-richest person in the world after Oracle shares dropped 54% amid concerns over AI infrastructure spending.
Larry Ellison fell to the eighth-richest person in the world as of August 15, 2026, following a $104 billion decline in his net worth since June 2. His fortune now stands at $192.6 billion, placing him behind Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
The decline follows a sharp drop in Oracle shares, which plunged roughly 54% between June 1 and July 28. Investors reacted negatively to Oracle's plans to raise $40 billion through debt and equity to fund capital expenditures, which are projected to exceed $95 billion by fiscal 2027.
S&P Global downgraded Oracle's credit rating in July, citing the high costs associated with expanding AI infrastructure. Analysts also highlighted financial risks stemming from Oracle's heavy reliance on OpenAI, which reportedly accounts for more than 50% of the company's remaining performance obligation.
