Projectiles Strike Cargo Ship as Trump Threatens Iran

An unidentified projectile struck the Minoan Pioneer, a Liberia-flagged dry bulk carrier, in the Strait of Hormuz near the coast of Oman at 22:00 UTC on August 3. The strike hit the engine room, causing a total power blackout and triggering fires in the crew accommodation areas. While the crew abandoned the vessel, the third engineer remains missing. This attack follows two similar incidents within 24 hours involving the vessels Egypt Prosperity and On Pride in Omani waters.

Donald Trump previously declared he was giving Tehran a "last chance before decapitation" to sign a diplomatic deal on his terms. Following this, reports from Kuwait indicate that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked a US military base in northern Kuwait. The United States has maintained a naval blockade of Iranian ports since February.
