Trump Investment Accounts Execute 3,642 Stock Trades
Investment accounts managed by third parties for Donald Trump executed over 3,600 trades, including selling Palantir shares and buying Western Digital stock.
Public disclosures from the U.S. Office of Government Ethics reveal that investment accounts associated with Donald Trump executed 3,642 stock trades during the first quarter. These accounts are managed by third-party institutions, indicating that the president did not personally direct the transactions.
Among the activity, the accounts sold between $854,000 and $4.6 million in Palantir Technologies, a company specializing in AI ontology and data integration. Simultaneously, the accounts purchased between $45,000 and $150,000 in Western Digital Inc., a manufacturer of hard disk drives used for AI workloads.
Western Digital stock rose more than 2,100% since early 2023 due to the expansion of AI data centers. However, the stock recently declined alongside other storage and memory companies following a record quarterly profit guidance announcement from Samsung Electronics, illustrating the cyclical volatility of the hardware sector.
