Donald Trump Regrets Nominating Three Supreme Court Justices
President Donald Trump expressed regret over nominating three Supreme Court justices after they issued rulings against his tariffs and mail-in ballot restrictions.
President Donald Trump stated in a Time Magazine interview that he regrets nominating Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Brett Kavanaugh. Trump cited the justices' tendency to vote against him in recent rulings as the reason for his frustration, claiming he gave them the "position of a lifetime" only for them to oppose him.
The president's comments follow a court decision to block a Postal Service rule restricting mail-in ballots for the November midterm elections. Additionally, a February ruling struck down his global tariffs, which the court found were imposed illegally. Trump previously described the appointees on Truth Social as a "shell of their original selves."
While acknowledging a preference for loyalty, Trump clarified that he wants "good decisions" from the court. He expressed disappointment that the justices he appointed have voted against his administration's policies on multiple occasions.
