Trump Vows to Protect Elon Musk From Democratic Investigations

President Donald Trump announced he would protect Elon Musk and consider pre-emptive pardons for allies if Democrats launch investigations after the midterm elections.

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he would move to protect Elon Musk if Democrats launch investigations into the SpaceX and Tesla CEO following the midterm elections. Speaking on the Pod Force One podcast, Trump indicated he would also consider issuing pre-emptive pardons for his own staff and other allies who might face Democratic probes.

These statements follow a cycle in which Musk spent nearly half a billion dollars opposing Democratic candidates. During the interview, Trump also expressed a desire to run for a third term, though he acknowledged that the legal language regarding term limits is very exacting. He noted that he still has more than two years in office to implement his agenda.
