Atiku Abubakar Urges Voter Registration Ahead of 2027 Elections
Atiku Abubakar urged Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards as the Independent National Electoral Commission began distribution for the 2027 general elections.
Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar urged registered voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on October 14, 2026, in preparation for the 2027 general elections. In statements shared via Facebook and X, the African Democratic Congress candidate criticized President Bola Tinubu for increasing the cost of living and failing to address nationwide insecurity.
Abubakar pledged to restore security and make living costs affordable for Nigerians if elected. He described the PVC as a peaceful power for citizens to demand change and called for a unified effort across generations to vote for a country where families can live with dignity and safety.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concurrently announced that PVCs for those who registered in 2025 and previous cycles are available for collection. The commission scheduled collection at Registration Areas from October 9 to October 15, 2026, before moving the process to Local Government Areas on October 16.
