APC Chieftain Urges Unity After Osun Election Loss

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye urged the All Progressives Congress to avoid internal blame and begin strategic repositioning following its defeat in the Osun governorship election.

APC chieftain Olatunbosun Oyintiloye called for party reconciliation and a comprehensive post-election review after the All Progressives Congress lost the Osun governorship election. He urged party members to avoid internal blame games, arguing that the defeat stemmed from a combination of grassroots mobilization and candidate appeal rather than the failures of any single leader.

In the election, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke secured victory with 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes. Oyintiloye emphasized that the party must prioritize strategic repositioning to ensure victory for President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Oyintiloye stated that the party cannot afford to spend the coming months fighting internally and described the current period as a time for sober reflection and reconciliation. He cautioned against making any individual a scapegoat for the electoral outcome.
