John Fetterman Warns Iran Threat Amid Democratic Party Rift
Senator John Fetterman criticized the Democratic Party for becoming anti-Israel and argued that Iran must be neutralized before a potential 2028 Democratic presidential victory.
U.S. Senator John Fetterman broke with his party on Tuesday to voice strong support for Operation Epic Fury and military action against Iran. Speaking on NewsNation and Fox News, Fetterman argued that the Democratic Party and American media are undermining efforts to topple the Iranian regime, asserting that the political left has forgotten that Iran and its proxies are the real enemy and primary threat to regional security.
Fetterman warned that Israel's security would be seriously compromised if Iran is not addressed immediately and a Democratic candidate wins the 2028 presidential election. He cited a growing trend of anti-Israel sentiment within his party, noting that some candidates in Maine and Michigan have expressed views that could lead Democrats to vote against funding for the Iron Dome.
These comments coincide with a Democratic pressure campaign to limit President Donald Trump's authority and end military actions against Iran as a 60-day War Powers Resolution deadline approaches. Fetterman emphasized that his priority is preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. He further criticized the political left for failing to protest the alleged upcoming execution of eight Iranian women, whom President Trump has pleaded for the release of ahead of talks in Pakistan, despite denials from Iranian officials.
