Democrats Investigate Missing $63 Million in Trump Library Funds

Congressional Democrats launched an investigation into the disappearance of at least $63 million pledged by ABC, Meta, Paramount, and X for Donald Trump's planned presidential library in Miami. The funds were committed through legal settlements following the 2024 election to resolve claims of defamation and social media restrictions.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Richard Blumenthal, and Representative Melanie Stansbury, sent letters to the four companies on March 11, 2026, demanding the status and terms of the pledged money. The inquiry follows the administrative dissolution of the original recipient, the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Fund, Inc., which Florida officials dissolved in September for failing to file an annual report. Lawyer Jacob Roth subsequently dissolved the entity in December.

A separate nonprofit, the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation, Inc., reported receiving $50 million in December 2025, but it has not confirmed if this includes the settlement funds. Based on figures reported by The Washington Post, approximately $13 million remains unaccounted for. The companies have not yet responded to the lawmakers' letters.

Lawmakers expressed concerns that the lack of federal disclosure requirements for these funds allows for potential corruption. This investigation coincides with other scrutiny regarding high-value gifts received by the president, including a $400 million Boeing 747 from Qatar and the acquisition of Miami real estate valued at $66 million for only $10.
