Brandon Weichert, a geopolitical and national security expert, stated that the Republican Party has lost the "Mandate of Heaven" and predicted the party would be out of power for at least a generation. He attributed this potential decline to incompetence regarding the current military situation.

Further evidence of dissatisfaction emerged via foreign policy expert Trita Parsi, who shared an unverified image from the Persian Gulf. The image showed messages scribbled in dust on an aircraft wing criticizing President Donald Trump and his war against Iran. An anonymous active-duty service member told Parsi that the current operation lacks morale, contrasting it with previous conflicts.
