Narendra Modi Urges Citizens to Join Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Indian citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign leading up to Independence Day on August 15, 2026. In a video message shared on social media, he called for the nation to celebrate with pride and honor, pay tribute to freedom fighters, and pledge to build a developed India, known as Viksit Bharat.

The 2026 celebrations will include the first-time singing of Vande Mataram at the Red Fort, following the passage of a bill granting the song legal protections similar to those of the national anthem.

Ahead of the holiday, Modi and other leaders of the National Democratic Alliance waved the Tricolour during a Mangal Milan event held at the Parliament Annexe in New Delhi.
