President Bola Tinubu Meets Officials Ahead of 2027 Campaigns
President Bola Tinubu held separate meetings with legislative and cabinet officials in Abuja as the 2027 election campaign period officially began.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu hosted a series of separate meetings with high-ranking government and legislative officials on Tuesday evening at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The engagements included discussions with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives member Alhassan Ado Doguwa, and Ministers Henry Dele Alake and Adegboyega Oyetola.
While the administration did not disclose the specific agendas for these meetings, the visit from Minister Adegboyega Oyetola followed the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, where Governor Ademola Adeleke was declared the winner.
These consultations occurred immediately before the Independent National Electoral Commission scheduled the official commencement of political campaigns for the 2027 elections on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
