Donald Trump Says Ilhan Omar Could Face Jail Time
President Donald Trump stated Representative Ilhan Omar could face imprisonment following a federal raid on her home over alleged immigration fraud.
President Donald Trump stated on October 21, 2026, that Representative Ilhan Omar could face jail time or deportation following a federal raid on her Washington, D.C., home. The search, conducted by Homeland Security Investigations on October 12, is part of a probe into whether Omar or her late father misstated her age on immigration documents during her naturalization process in 2000.
During the raid, federal investigators seized Omar's cellphone, passport, personal computers, and notebooks. While no charges have been filed and no evidence has been publicly released, Trump characterized Omar as a "dishonest person" who "hates our country." Border czar Tom Homan added that Omar could be denaturalized if the allegations of immigration fraud are proven.
Ilhan Omar has denied all wrongdoing, describing the raid as an "outrageous abuse of power" and an attempt at political intimidation ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. In a video posted Tuesday night, Omar appealed to supporters for campaign donations to help fight the administration's actions, asserting that she will not be silenced or intimidated.
