Recent polling from the University of Texas at Austin shows Talarico holds a commanding lead over Republican opponent Ken Paxton among Black voters, surpassing the previous performance of Democratic candidates Beto O'Rourke and Colin Allred. Despite this lead, political consultants warn that voter turnout remains a primary challenge, particularly among low-propensity voters who feel alienated from both major parties.
While Jasmine Crockett has endorsed Talarico, she has remained distant from his campaign to focus on local races. Talarico acknowledged the ongoing effort to unify the base, stating, "But we have a lot more work to do."
