Goldman Sachs Maintains Buy Rating as Nvidia Expands AI Platform

Nvidia is diversifying its AI computing platform and expanding automotive partnerships while Goldman Sachs maintains a $300 price target for the company.

Goldman Sachs reiterated a Buy rating and a $300.00 price target for Nvidia following a GTC keynote delivered by CEO Jensen Huang in Berlin. Analyst James Schneider noted that the event confirmed AI deployments remain on track, with the company now focusing on the security of agentic AI in enterprise settings and the growth of physical AI. Nvidia reported first-half fiscal 2027 revenue of $11 billion and has authorized approximately $235 billion in stock buybacks to support growth.

Under the leadership of Jensen Huang, Nvidia has evolved from a GPU designer into a comprehensive computing platform including CPUs, networking equipment, and software. The company has made strategic $2 billion investments into Marvell Technology, Coherent, and Lumentum, and established a partnership with Nokia. It currently provides infrastructure to SpaceX and major hyperscalers including Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Meta Platforms, and Amazon Web Services.

While Nvidia expanded partnerships with Volvo Cars, Mercedes-Benz, and the London Stock Exchange Group, it faces new competition from Amazon, which launched a tool allowing its custom AI chips to run PyTorch code without modifications. Despite a market capitalization exceeding $5 trillion, Nvidia's price-to-earnings ratio has compressed to 27, its lowest level since June 2019, as earnings growth has outpaced stock price appreciation.
