Tennessee Renames Interstate 40 Bridge for Donald J. Trump

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent led a ceremony Thursday to rename an Interstate 40 bridge in Dandridge, Tennessee, in honor of President Donald J. Trump.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent led a ceremony on Thursday, July 9, 2026, to officially rename a bridge on Interstate 40 as the President Donald J. Trump Bridge. The bridge is located above Douglas Lake in Dandridge, Tennessee, approximately 30 miles east of Knoxville.

The renaming follows the passage of Senate Bill 202 by the Tennessee General Assembly, a piece of legislation that designated various state highways and bridges to honor veterans and public officials. The unveiling was attended by several Tennessee leaders, including Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally, U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, and U.S. Representative Tim Burchett. Family members of the president, including sister Elizabeth Trump Grau and sister-in-law Ann Marie Trump, also attended the event.

This designation coincides with other recent infrastructure rebrandings, such as the renaming of Palm Beach International Airport to President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
