Democrats Win Congress as Jimmy Kimmel Calls for Trump Resignation

The Democratic Party recaptured majorities in the House and Senate, prompting late-night host Jimmy Kimmel to call for President Donald Trump's resignation.

The Democratic Party recaptured majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate during the midterm elections on Tuesday. The party also flipped governorships in Texas, Ohio, Iowa, and Georgia. The results aligned with election models, including one from Harvard, which predicted a low probability of Republicans maintaining control of the House.

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel celebrated the results as a "blue tsunami" and later used his Wednesday monologue to call for President Donald Trump to resign. Kimmel mocked Trump's claims that Republicans would have won in a landslide had he been on the ballot, as well as Trump's tendency to blame others for the losses, including Fox News and Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

White House spokesperson Danny Ingle responded to the commentary by calling Kimmel a "no-talent loser" who has "beclowned himself" amid tanking ratings. Kimmel responded by mocking the timing of the White House insults following the decisive election defeat.
