Trump Administration Spends $1 Million on Taxpayer-Funded Ads

The White House of the United States is facing bipartisan criticism for spending over $1 million on patriotic advertisements featuring President Donald Trump.

The White House of the United States has launched a series of television advertisements featuring President Donald Trump that are explicitly labeled as paid for by the U.S. government. The campaign began with a 30-second spot on Fox News and Newsmax pledging to defeat communism and Marxism while promoting tax cuts. Subsequent ads included footage from Mount Rushmore and a repurposed 2024 campaign video vowing to expel warmongers and the sick political class. While initial costs were reported at $14,000, AdImpact estimates total spending has since exceeded $1 million.

The administration defends the spots as educational and unapologetically patriotic public service announcements. Officials argue the ads are not campaign materials because the president is not on the ballot for the November midterms and the content contains no call to action.

Lawmakers from both parties have condemned the expenditure. Representative Jamie Raskin alleged the ads violate the Hatch Act and may constitute felony criminal theft of government property. Republican Senator Thom Tillis called the use of taxpayer funds inappropriate, comparing the tactic to those of Viktor Orban. Additionally, R&B artist JMSN is seeking legal counsel after claiming his song Love Me was used in the advertisements without authorization.
