Israeli Settler Groups Plan Seizure of 100 West Bank Sites

Israeli settler organizations proposed a plan to seize 100 strategic locations in West Bank Area A, prompting condemnation from Palestinian officials and calls for UN intervention.

The Settler Farms Association and the Havat Forum have developed a proposal to seize 100 strategic locations within Area A of the occupied West Bank. The plan, which was presented to Israeli government ministers and associates of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, outlines a mechanism to deploy forces to these sites on a designated execution day to reshape the map of the occupied territory.

Area A is currently under the administrative and security control of the Palestinian Authority under the 1995 Oslo II Accord. Palestinian officials, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, have condemned the initiative as a systematic war crime and a blatant violation of international law. Muayyad Shaaban, president of the Anti-Wall and Settlement Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, described the proposal as a dangerous step toward the annexation of the West Bank.

In response to the plan, the Palestinian government has urged the United Nations Security Council and the international community to compel Israel to end its occupation, citing a 2024 International Court of Justice advisory opinion. The move is viewed by Palestinian authorities as a direct effort to undermine the viability of a two-state solution.
