Trump Endorses Michael Alfonso for Wisconsin 7th District Seat

Michael Alfonso, a 26-year-old first-time candidate, is seeking the Republican nomination for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District. President Donald Trump has provided a "Complete and Total Endorsement" of Alfonso, characterizing him as a "MAGA warrior" and a "young STAR."

The campaign is heavily supported by Alfonso's father-in-law, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, who represented the district from 2011 to 2019. Duffy has actively campaigned for Alfonso and transferred $1 million from his former campaign account to a super PAC supporting the bid.

Alfonso faces criticism from local GOP officials and Republican opponents who allege nepotism and a lack of professional experience. County chairman John Righeimer has questioned the candidate's qualifications, while other critics have raised concerns regarding Alfonso's residency following reports that he was recently registered to vote in Florida.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in mathematics and a former producer for The Dan Bongino Show, Alfonso defends his candidacy by citing his construction experience and the support of the president. If elected, he would become the youngest member of Congress.
