Donald Trump Says He Could Stop Insulting Democrats

President Donald Trump stated he could refrain from insulting Democrats to facilitate bipartisan deals after Democrats won control of both houses of Congress.

Donald Trump stated in a preview of a 60 Minutes interview that he could very easily stop using insults against Democrats to help secure bipartisan deals in the next Congress. The comments come after midterm elections resulted in Democrats winning control of both the House and Senate.

While Trump has a history of using derogatory nicknames for political opponents, including recent attacks on Democratic Senator-elects James Talarico and Annie Andrews, he claimed he could work with the opposition without consistent insults.

Trump promised to work with the Democrat-controlled Congress starting in January 2027. However, he also noted that he would use his veto powers to block legislation he opposes during the final two years of his term.
