BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo Criticizes INDIA Bloc and Congress
Pratul Shahdeo of the BJP dismissed the unity of the INDIA bloc and accused the Congress party of defaming India's constitutional institutions.
Bharatiya Janata Party chief spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo criticized the INDIA bloc and the Indian National Congress ahead of an opposition meeting concerning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Shahdeo alleged that the alliance exists only in name and claimed that partners including Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav have distanced themselves from the Congress leadership.
Shahdeo accused the Congress party of attempting to defame national and constitutional institutions, such as the Election Commission and the Supreme Court, despite the court's approval of the SIR process. He further dismissed the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the Congress party cannot achieve victory while Gandhi remains in his current role.
Regarding the SIR timeline, Shahdeo stated the BJP would accept any decision made by the Election Commission of India to extend the deadline for filing claims and objections.
