No Kings Protests Hit Idaho State Capitol Ahead of Election

Protesters gathered at the Idaho State Capitol as part of a national day of demonstrations urging voter registration before the November 3 general election.

Thousands of demonstrators participated in 'No Kings' protests across approximately 3,000 locations in the United States on Saturday, including a rally at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise. The events took place in several states, including Georgia, Texas, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, and Colorado.

In Boise, speakers from the grassroots organization Idaho 50501 urged attendees to register to vote, volunteer for campaigns, and utilize early voting options before the November 3 general election. The upcoming vote will determine all of Idaho's statewide elected officials, including the governor, as well as seats in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and the state Legislature.

Participants highlighted several key policy concerns, including the restoration of legal abortion through Proposition 1 and the prevention of AI data centers within the state. Protesters also expressed concerns regarding federal governance under President Donald Trump and the broader impact of his administration on representative democracy.
