Adnoc Exports LNG via Stealth Tankers Amid US-Iran Conflict

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) continues to load liquefied natural gas onto tankers at the Das Island export facility despite escalating hostilities between the United States and Iran. Satellite imagery from September 2 confirms vessels are docked at the facility, though ship-tracking data reveals tankers are disabling transponders to travel dark through the Strait of Hormuz to avoid detection.

These stealth operations occur as renewed fighting between the U.S. and Iran leads to attacks on oil supertankers and a Qatar-owned vessel. While Adnoc maintains some flow, overall LNG exports from the Persian Gulf remain significantly below pre-war levels. The Government of Qatar has largely ceased sending fuel through the waterway due to safety concerns, opting instead to deliver shipments to Kuwait.

President Donald Trump has warned that the United States is prepared to conduct further attacks on Iran, stating that the U.S. is prepared to do another one any time it wants.
