Chinese Business Delegation Visits U.S. Amid Trade Tensions

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade is leading a delegation of 22 companies specializing in frontier technologies and green transition sectors on a visit to the United States. Invited by the U.S.-China Business Council, the group will travel to Washington, D.C., Utah, and Illinois to participate in more than 10 matchmaking events with American firms, including 3M, Visa, and Cargill.

This diplomatic outreach follows a video conference between Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and U.S. officials Scott Bessent and Jamieson Greer. The officials met to discuss the implementation of consensus reached by their respective national leaders in Beijing regarding economic and trade relations.

The visit occurs as trade tensions persist. China has expressed concern over U.S. trade restrictions, specifically a recent action by the Federal Communications Commission to ban imports of certain foreign-produced connected power inverters and advanced robotic devices, citing national security risks.
